Welsh GPs cancel some blood tests for 'up to three months' due to UK bottle shortage

ree

GPs across Wales have told their patients not to try and book a blood test for the "foreseeable future" unless it is deemed essential as a UK-wide shortage of blood bottles worsens.

The British Medical Association Cymru (BMA) says a problem with the manufacturer is causing shortages of tubes which are used by medical professionals in hospitals across the UK, GP practices and community settings to collect blood for laboratory testing.

Roath House Surgery in Cardiff issued a notice to its patients via Facebook that said: "some tests for some people will be postponed until the national stocks recover.

"Those patients with the highest risk or need will still recieve the blood tests they need, however routine blood tests will have to wait".

IF YOU DON'T WISH TO WAIT, THEN PLEASE CONTACT US, WE HAVE A HEALTHY SUPPLY OF BLOOD BOTTLES AND ARE STILL UP AND RUNNING AS NORMAL.
